Multi-Tiered Architectures
Multi-tiered architectures are commonly used by today’s applications servers, such as
WebLogic Server and NonStop CORBA. These technologies advance the N-tiered
concept a step further by introducing distributed object architectures, in which the
middle tier (business layer) consists of business objects. These business objects, such
as Enterprise JavaBeans, can reside on different nodes in a network. The application
server makes it easy to develop distributed business objects and assemble them into
complete business applications.
