WebLogic Server and the J2EE Platform
WebLogic Server is Based on a Three-Tiered Architecture
WebLogic Server has a three-tiered architecture, which separates presentation,
business logic, and data access:
The presentation layer is responsible for managing the user interfaces of
applications, including desktop applications, Web browsers, and other client types
(such as wireless devices).
The business layer contains the business logic.
The data access layer provides access to databases and other applications.
We now take a closer look at the J2EE platform and explore the capabilities and
advantages it brings to the application server environment. We will also see how J2EE
is well suited to the multi-tiered architecture.
