WebLogic Server and the J2EE Platform
The ability of WebLogic Server to integrate with NonStop Tuxedo, NonStop CORBA,
and Pathway enables you to combine the best of the C/C++ and Java programming
languages for ZLE applications, and also serves to protect your investment in existing
systems and applications.
WebLogic Server Example
An example of how WebLogic Server is used as an application server in a ZLE
environment is provided by an HP application called the Transmuter application. The
Transmuter application provides data services for the HP Real Time Supply Chain ZLE
solution. The Transmuter receives data from client applications such as SAP, maps the
incoming data to a particular data model, and stores the data in the ZLE data store. In
response to requests from client applications, the Transmuter extracts data from the
data store and sends it to the requesting applications.
Figure 3-19 on page 3-29 illustrates the components and data flow in a simplified, but
typical, Transmuter implementation running in WebLogic Server.
