Planning for Installation
2. Gather information about your NonStop system and Web server, and record the
information on this worksheet. You will need this information to answer the prompts
displayed by the NSM/web installation script:
OSS root directory Description: The OSS directory in which you plan to
install NSM/web files. Also referred to as the OSS
Installation Directory.
Note: With T2806G21^ABC and superseding SPRs, the
default installation directory is
/usr/tandem/NSMwebServers.
Example*: /usr/tandem/lobsterServers

Web server HTML
content root
directory
Description: The OSS directory in which the NSM/web
Web pages will be installed. Also referred to as the Web
Installation Directory. Specify the absolute path name of
your Web server HTML content root directory and then
append the directory for the NSM/web Web elements.
Example*: /usr/tandem/webserver/root/lobster

Guardian
subvolume
Description: The OSS directory where Guardian files will
be installed. Also referred to as the Guardian Installation
Directory.
Example*: /G/system/lobster

Pathmon name Description: The name of the PATHMON process that
will be dedicated to NSM/web. The process name must
be of the form $ann, where a is any letter, and n is any
letter or digit.
Example*: $ZLOB

Server CPU Description: The processor (CPU) in which NSM/web
server processes will run. A NonStop system has 16
processors configured, but they might not all be installed.
Example*: 2

Server priority Description: The CPU priority to be used by the
NSM/web server processes.
