Stopping NSM/web
Starting NSM/web
Run the start NSM/web script from the NSM/web directory. This script starts the
NSM/web Pathway environment:
cd /usr/tandem/NSMweb/lobster/bin
./startNSMweb
After the initial installation is complete, you can allow other users to start NSM/web by
using these steps:
1. Log on as the super ID (255,255).
2. Start an OSS prompt by using the osh command.
3. Enter these OSS commands:
cd /usr/tandem/lobsterServers/bin
chmod u+s NSMwebServerFactory
Logging On to NSM/web
To log on, start your Web server and activate a link to the NSM/web location at the IP
address where NSM/web was installed. Use this format:
http://ip-address/NSMweb/lobster/NSMweb.html
For example, if NSM/web is installed in the location
/usr/tandem/webserver/root/NSM/web/lobster on a system at the IP
address 12.34.56.78, you would activate a link to:
http://12.34.56.78/NSM/web/lobster/NSMweb.html
You can add this address to your favorites list.
Stopping NSM/web
Run the stop NSM/web script from the NSM/web directory. This script stops the
NSM/web factory and shuts down the NSM/web Pathway environment:
cd /usr/tandem/NSMweb/lobster/bin
./stopNSMweb
After the NSM/web factory stops, new logons cannot occur, and new servers cannot be
started. However, servers that are already running remain active until one of the
following occurs:
The user refreshes the Web page.
Note. To start the script the first time, you must be the super ID (255,255).
Note. NSM/web provides a single-logon infrastructure across all its supported products
(SQL/MX and MXCS). When you log on to either product, login information is propagated to
the other products.
