Cause. The value for the CPU list parameter in the configuration file is not in the
correct format.
Effect. SCS fails to start.
Recovery. Change the value for the CPU list parameter in the configuration file to the
correct format. Correct the value and reissue the start command.

Cause. The value specified for the CPU list parameter in the configuration file is not
numeric.
Effect. SCS fails to start.
Recovery. Change the value for the CPU list parameter in the configuration file to the
correct format. See Correct Name Formats
on page 2-1 for the correct format for the
CPU list parameter. Correct the value and reissue the start command.

Cause. The value specified for the CPU list parameter in the configuration file is not in
the correct format.
Effect. SCS fails to start.
Recovery. Change the value for the CPU list parameter in the configuration file to the
correct format. Reissue the start command.

Cause. Someone attempted to stop SCS from a user ID that is different from the user ID
under which SCS was started.
Effect. SCS fails to stop.
Recovery. Log on to the system under the user ID that started SCS. Reissue the stop
command.
