NonStop ODBC Server Messages Manual—429394.001
v
About This Manual
The NonStop™ ODBC Server allows applications to use the Microsoft ODBC interface,
Microsoft SQL Server interface, or Sybase SQL Server interface to access a
NonStop SQL/MP database. This manual documents the error and warning messages
that can occur during the execution of the NonStop ODBC Server. It includes event
messages reported to $0 (or the default collector) that can be interpreted by the Event
Management Service (EMS).
Audience
This manual is intended for all users of the NonStop ODBC Server, including system
administrators, database administrators (DBAs), client application administrators, and
client users.
NonStop ODBC Message Sources
NonStop ODBC Server messages can originate from the following sources:
•
The NonStop ODBC Server generates messages numbered 32000 and higher. Most
of these messages are displayed on the workstation; however, the NonStop ODBC
Server occasionally sends event messages to $0 (or the default collector). All of
these messages are described in Section 1, NonStop™ ODBC Server Messages
.
•
The SQL Communication Subsystem (SCS) generates two types of messages:
°
Event messages are reported to $0 (or the default collector). These messages are
described in Section 2, SQL Communication Subsystem (SQL Communications
Subsystem (SCS) Messages. For information about event messages and $0, see
the EMS Manual.
°
Interactive messages, numbered 35100 and higher, are displayed on the terminal
from which the SCS process was started. These messages are described in
Section 3, TACL Messages
.
•
The NonStop OBDC Server Configuration Manager generates messages numbered
37000 and higher that are displayed on the workstation where the Configuration
Manager is running. These messages are described in Section 4, Configuration
Manager Messages.
•
The NOSCOM command interpreter generates messages numbered 31000 through
31999 that are displayed on the NonStop system terminal where the NOSCOM
program was started. These messages are described in Section 5, NOSCOM
Messages.
•
NonStop SQL/MP generates messages with numbers less than 32000. These
messages, which are displayed on the workstation, are described in the
NonStop SQL/MP Messages Manual.
