5.1  Installation Location 
(Default Current Volume.Subvol) 
This is the Location where all the above-mentioned files are downloaded from the 
CD.  
6  User Inputs needed 
6.1  Instance Number 
(Default = 1) 
In normal circumstances there will be only one OmniMessaging™ instance on the 
system. However we support multiple instances and the Instance Number can very 
from 0 to 9. The instance number is used to create unique database instance and 
unique process names.  
For Example: 
For Instance number 1 
Server Process Name for dst01-srv: $d111 
Catalog subvol imapct1 
Database subvol imapdb1 
Multiple OmniMessaging™ instances are used by our Email Hosting customers and 
during testing. Multiple instances are not a way to improve performance. Ask us for 
tips on how to improve the performance of your OmniMessaging™ system. 
6.2  Catalog Volume 
(Default Current Volume) 
This is the audited Volume in which catalog will be created.  
6.3  Database Volume 
(Default Current Volume) 
This is the audited Volume in which database tables will be created. The database 
creation script can be found in the edit file ODBSQL and can be updated manually to 
add partitions etc. 
6.4  SMTP Port 
(Default 25) ** 
This is the port for SMTP server. You need to be a super group user to use a port 
number less than 1024. 
Maximum value can be 65535. 
6.5  IMAP Port 
(Default 143) ** 
This is the port for IMAP server. You need to be a super group user to use a port 
number less than 1024. 
Maximum value can be 65535.
