DIAGNOSE FILESET Command

This option has the following values:

If the REPAIR option is omitted, the default value is REPAIR NONE.

When the REPAIR option is specified, you cannot specify the STATUS,

UPGRADE, or DOWNGRADE option.

UPGRADE

reformats the catalog for the fileset from an earlier version to a current version. For

example, you can

•

Upgrade a D30-version catalog (Version 1 fileset) to a D40-version catalog

(Version 2 fileset) to add support for symbolic links.

•

Upgrade a Version 2 fileset catalog to a Version 3 fileset catalog to add

support for OSS ACLs.

If the UPGRADE option is omitted, no upgrade occurs.

When the UPGRADE option is specified, you cannot specify the STATUS,

REPAIR, or DOWNGRADE option.

DOWNGRADE

reformats the catalog for the fileset from a current version to an earlier version. For

example, you can:

•

Downgrade a Version 3 fileset catalog to a Version 2 fileset catalog to remove

support for OSS ACLs.

ALL

Repair all inconsistencies (serious and minor).

NONE

Do not repair any inconsistencies. This is the default specification.

OPEN

Same as SERIOUS, but also assumes that there might be open

files in this fileset. This option indicates that inodes cannot be

reused until the next unmount or remount.

SERIOUS

Repair only serious inconsistencies. This option can speed up the

execution of a fileset check.

Note. You can use this command to upgrade to a Version 3 fileset catalog on systems

runnng G06.29 or later G-series RVUs only.

Caution. When you downgrade a fileset catalog from Version 3 to an earlier version, all

optional ACL entries for files in the fileset are removed. The file owner and file other

permission bits are retained, and the class entry permission bits are used for the group

permission bits for the file. You can use this command to downgrade a Version 3 fileset

catalog on systems runnng G06.29 or later G-series RVUs only.
