If your system is upgraded to a G06.17 or later G-series RVU, the OSS Monitor automatically
upgrades an existing ZOSSSERV file.
Beginning with the J06.17 and H06.28 RVUs, when HP ships a system with the OSS environment
preconfigured or you use the OSSSETUP utility to configure your system and accept all defaults,
ZOSSSERV contains the following initial OSS message-queue server information:

If your system is upgraded to either the J06.17 RVU (or later J-series RVU) or the H06.28 RVU (or
later H-series RVU), the OSS Monitor automatically upgrades an existing ZOSSSERV file.
Configuration Database Files Used for the OSS Sockets Local Server
Systems Running AF_UNIX Release 2 Software
Systems running J06.05 or later J-series RVUs or H06.16 or later H-series RVUs are running
AF_UNIX Release 2 software. For these systems:
The OSS Monitor requires a ZOSSSERV file to be in the subvolume $SYSTEM.ZXOSSMON.
The ZOSSSERV file is the OSS sockets local server configuration database. When the OSS
Monitor starts, it creates a configuration record in this database for each OSS sockets local
server 2 server. You cannot modify, add, or delete these records. These records can be deleted
only if the system falls back to an RVU that does not support AF_UNIX Release 2 software.
There is a #ZPLS entry for the OSS sockets local server process, $ZPLS, to allow fallback to
an RVU that does not support AF_UNIX Release 2 software.
