HP is not responsible for the proper functioning of unsupported utilities or facilities and will not

respond to product reports about them. Such utilities and facilities include those in the OSS

/bin/unsupported directory. Use these utilities and facilities at your own risk.

Acknowledgment

The Portable Archive Interchange (pax) utility software was developed by Mark H. Colburn and

is sponsored by the USENIX Association.

The pax utility, distributed to HP free of charge, is used to support the tar, cpio, and pax user

interfaces furnished with the OSS environment and is documented in this guide and the Open

System Services Shell and Utilities Reference Manual.
