Open System Services Management and Operations Guide (G06.30+, H06.08+, J06.03+)
MAXWAITTIME seconds2
specifies the maximum number of seconds that the OSS Monitor waits for the server’s primary
processor to become available during an automatic restart of the server; seconds2 must be
in the range 0 through 32767. A value of 0 means that the OSS Monitor does not wait for
the primary processor to become available.
If the BACKUPCPUOK attribute for the server is TRUE and the primary processor does not
become available after the specified period has elapsed, the OSS Monitor attempts to start
the server in its backup processor.
When the MAXWAITTIME option is omitted, the value in the server’s current configuration is
not changed.
MSGMQB msgmqb
specifies the maximum number of bytes allowed in an OSS message queue. Valid values are
in the range 1 through:
• 65535 – Prior to the J06.17/H06.28 RVUs.
• 1073741824 (1 GB) – Beginning with the J06.17/H06.28 RVUs.
If the MSGMQB option is omitted, the maximum number of bytes allowed is unchanged. The
default value is:
• 65535 – Prior to the J06.17/H06.28 RVUs.
• 1048576 (1 MB) – Beginning with the J06.17/H06.28 RVUs.
This option is valid only for the OSS message-queue server.
MSGMSIZE msgmsize
specifies the maximum number of bytes allowed for a message. Valid values are in the range
1 through:
• 32000 – Prior to the J06.17/H06.28 RVUs.
• 2000000 (~2 MB) – Beginning with the J06.17/H06.28 RVUs.
If the MSGMSIZE option is omitted, the maximum number of bytes allowed is unchanged. The
default value is 32000.
This option is valid only for the OSS message-queue server.
SQLTIMEOUT seconds
specifies the number of seconds that the OSS name server waits for a response from SQLCAT
to a request. Valid values are in the range 60 through 300.
If the SQLTIMEOUT option is omitted, the timeout interval is unchanged.
This option is valid only for OSS name server processes.
SEEPENABLED { ON | OFF }
specifies whether the OSS SEEP needs to be running or not. If ON, the OSS name server starts
the OSS SEEP and sends the access authorization requests to the process if an OSS
SEEP-protected fileset has been mounted. If the value is OFF, the OSS name server does not
start the OSS SEEP. If the OSS SEEP is running when the attribute is set to OFF, the process is
stopped.
The valid values are OFF and ON.
The default value for this attribute is OFF.
SEEPRESPONSETIMEOUT nseconds
specifies the number of seconds that the OSS name server waits for the OSS SEEP to respond
to an event.
The valid values are 1 through 900 seconds. There is no option to wait indefinitely.
