SCF Commands for OSS NFS Objects
This topic describes the SCF commands used to create and manage OSS NFS objects. Detailed
descriptions of these and other OSS NFS commands, including the syntax, meaning, examples,
and operational considerations for each command, are provided in the Open System Services
NFS SCF Reference Manual. For yet more detailed information that might apply, see the SCF
reference manual appropriate to your system.
Because managing OSS NFS often requires that you issue several SCF commands to the same
object, the following descriptions are organized by object type. The object types are discussed in
order of their scope within the OSS NFS subsystem.
USER Object
The USER object represents a person registered to use the OSS NFS subsystem.
Configuration and Prerequisites
A USER object can be added at any time during configuration of the OSS NFS subsystem.
Commands That Operate on USER Objects
You can add, delete, or alter USER objects as user requirements change. These SCF commands
operate on USER objects:
Registers a USER object and assigns the object an OSS user ID. The command also permits
you to assign the user to a group and to give it an alias OS user ID. By specifying an alias,
ADD USER
you establish a link between the OS user ID and the NFS client user, which allows the OSS
NFS user to assume certain privileges of an OS user. Such aliases must be unique to this OSS
NFS USER object.
Modifies the USER object attributes.ALTER USER
