Open System Services NFS Management and Operations Guide

FILE file1
specifies the Guardian filename of the NonStop TCP/IP host definition file, which contains a
list of valid host names, aliases for those names, and the corresponding Internet Protocol (IP)
addresses for those hosts.
This DEFINE must be specified if a domain name resolver process is not running.
For information on creating a NonStop TCP/IP host definition file, see the TCP/IP configuration
and management manual appropriate to your system.
FILE file2
specifies the Guardian filename of the NonStop TCP/IP domain name resolver configuration
file, which contains a list of valid name servers for resolution between host names and the
Internet Protocol (IP) addresses for those hosts.
This value cannot be specified if DEFINE =TCPIP^HOST^FILE is specified for the current terminal
session.
For information on creating a NonStop TCP/IP domain name resolver configuration file, see
the TCP/IP configuration and management manual appropriate to your system.
FILE process
For conventional NonStop TCP/IP, this parameter specifies the Guardian process name of the
NonStop TCP/IP server that provides an IP address for the port mapper process. For NonStop
TCP/IPv6, this parameter specifies the Guardian name of the TCP6SAM process.
For Parallel Library TCP/IP, this parameter specifies the Guardian name of the TCPSAM process.
For conventional NonStop TCP/IP, by convention, the standard server process is named $ZTCn,
where n is the digit used in the input/output process (IOP) name associated with the controller
being served. For example, by convention, $ZTC0 is the server for the controller that is accessed
through $LAN0.
For NonStop TCP/IPv6, by convention, the standard TCP6SAM process is named $ZSAMn,
where n is the digit used in the input/output process (IOP) name associated with the controller
being served. For example, by convention, $ZSAM0 is the server for the controller that is
accessed through $LAN0.
For Parallel Library TCP/IP, by convention, the standard TCPSAM process is named $ZSAMn,
where n is the digit used in the input/output process (IOP) name associated with the controller
being served.
Most NonStop software requires that the default NonStop TCP/IP server process name be
$ZTC0. If only one NonStop TCP/IP server is configured, it should use this process name.
The form of the process name used for the NonStop TCP/IP server process is a convention that
is not dictated by the software.
[\system.]RPCINFO
is an implied RUN command for $SYSTEM.ZRPC.RPCINFO, the filename of the RPCINFO
process.
-p
invokes the primary copy of the RPCINFO process, instead of backup or mirrored copies.
host-name
specifies the name of the host in the NonStop TCP/IP network for which RPC programs are
displayed. If this parameter is not supplied, RPCINFO checks the local host. The first check
normally done to verify connectivity is to run RPCINFO on the local host. RPC information must
be able to map the host name to an IP address. Make sure to set the DEFINE =TCPIP^HOST^FILE
or the domain-name resolver file name if you are using DNS. Also, in a multiple-TCP/IP
environment, make sure to set the DEFINE =TCPIP^HOST^NAME.
