Open System Services NFS Management and Operations Guide

About This Document
This manual describes the installation, configuration, and management of the HP NonStop™ Open
System Services (OSS) Network File System (NFS). It is intended for system managers, operators,
and others who are experienced with HP NonStop operating systems and require a basic
understanding of the OSS NFS implementation.
Supported Release Version Updates (RVUs)
This manual supports J06.03 and all subsequent J-series RVUs, H06.03 and all subsequent H-series
RVUs, G06.00 and all subsequent G-series RVUs, and D48.00 and all subsequent D-series RVUs
until otherwise indicated in a replacement publication.
Intended Audience
This manual is intended for experienced managers and operators of NonStop systems. However,
“Introduction to OSS NFS” (page 14), is suitable for anyone interested in the features of OSS NFS.
Readers should be familiar with NonStop systems, the Transmission Control Protocol/Internet
Protocol (TCP/IP), and the appropriate network access method (the HP Tandem LAN Access Method
(TLAM) for D-series RVUs or the ServerNet LAN Systems Access for later RVUs). Readers should
also be familiar with the Remote Procedure Call (RPC) portmap and rpcinfo programs and
related RPC Event Management Service (EMS) events. See the rpcinfo(8) and portmap(8)
reference pages, either online or in the Open System Services Shell and Utilities Reference Manual.
