locale(4) OSS Shell and Utilities Reference Manual
%C Represents the century as a decimal number (00 to 99).
%d Represents the day of the month as a decimal number (01 to 31).
%D Represents the date in %m/%d/%y format (for example, 01/31/91).
%e Represents the day of the month as a decimal number (1 to 31). The %e eld descrip-
tor uses a 2-digit eld. If the day of the month is not a 2-digit number, the leading digit
is lled with a space character.
%Ec Species the locales alternate appropriate date and time representation.
%EC Species the name of the base year (period) in the locales alternate representation.
%Ex Species the locales alternate date representation.
%Ey Species the offset from %EC (year only) in the locales alternate representation.
%EY Species the full alternate year representation.
%h Represents the abbreviated month name (for example, Jan)dened by the abmon
statement. This eld descriptor is a synonym for the %b eld descriptor.
%H Represents the 24-hour clock hour as a decimal number (00 to 23).
