NAME
pname - Displays the OSS pathname of a Guardian le
SYNOPSIS
pname [-s] lename
FLAGS
-s Suppresses formatting and displays only the OSS pathname.
DESCRIPTION
The pname command displays the OSS lename for the Guardian le identied by lename.
This command displays either of the following:
The full pathname of a le in an OSS leset when given the lename of that le in the
Guardian le system
The full OSS pathname for a le in the Guardian le system
Operands
filename Species the Guardian lename whose OSS pathname is to be displayed. The follow-
ing special characters must be preceded with a backslash: dollar sign ($) and
backslash (\).
EXAMPLES
1. The command:
pname \$XPG.ZYQ00000.Z00005LN
results in the following output:
pname: $XPG.ZYQ00000.Z00005LN ---> /bin/pname
2. The command:
pname -s \\KT22.\$XPG.ZYQ00000.Z00005LS
results in the following output:
/bin/pname
3. The command:
pname -s \\KT22.\$SYSTEM.SYSTEM.FUP
results in the following output:
/G/system/system/fup
DIAGNOSTICS
The following error message is returned if an invalid lename or a nonexistent le is specied:
Failed with Guardian error: 4022
EXIT VALUES
The pname command returns the following values:
0 (zero) The command completed successfully.
>0 An error occurred.
