12. The following is an example of translating a Guardian lename to an OSS pathname. If
\LOCAL.$ZTNT.#PTY0001 is a nondisk device that needs to be passed to an OSS func-
tion, it can be referred to by specifying /G/ztnt/#pty0001.
NOTES
Guardian subvolume names and le identiers beginning with the letter Z are reserved. Do not
use such names for les in the /G directory.
During resolution of OSS pathnames, the st_atime eld of the stat structure is updated for each
parent directory involved in the resolution.
ERRORS
If an invalid Guardian lename results from OSS pathname or OSS lename translation for a le
in the /G directory, a function call using the OSS pathname or OSS lename fails and one of the
following values is returned for errno:
[EINVAL] The named le cannot be created.
[ENOENT] The named le cannot be opened.
Most OSS lename and pathname errors return the value [ENAMETOOLONG] for errno.
