[EIO] One of these conditions occurred:
• The process is a member of a background process group
attempting to write to its controlling terminal, the TOS-
TOP flag is set, the process is neither ignoring nor
blocking the SIGTTOU signal, and the process group of
the process is orphaned.
• A physical I/O error occurred. The device holding the
file might be in the down state, or both processors that
provide access to the device might have failed. Data
might have been lost during a transfer.
[EISGUARDIAN]
The value used for the filedes parameter is appropriate only in
the Guardian environment.
[ENETDOWN]
The filedes parameter specifies a file on a remote HP NonStop
node, but communication with the remote node has been lost.
[ENOSPC] No free space is left on the fileset containing the file.
[ENOTCONN] An attempt was made to write to a socket that is not connected
to a peer socket.
[ENXIO] One of these conditions occurred:
• The device associated with the file descriptor specified
by the filedes parameter is a block special device or
character special file, and the file pointer is out of range.
• No existing device is associated with the file descriptor
specified by the filedes parameter.
[EPIPE] One of these conditions occurred:
• An attempt was made to write to a pipe or FIFO file that
is not open for reading by any process. A SIGPIPE sig-
nal is sent if the process is running in the OSS environ-
ment.
• An attempt was made to write to a pipe that has only one
end open.
• An attempt was made to write to a socket that is shut
down or closed.
[ETIMEDOUT]
Data transmission on the socket timed out.
[EWRONGID] One of these conditions occurred:
• The process attempted an input or output operation
through an operating system input/output process (such
as a terminal server process) that has failed or is in the
down state.
