10.1.4 Unconfiguring Servers
You can remove server configuration information from a host’s configuration database by
using a server delete operation. You would perform this operation, for instance, when a
server moves to a different host. A server delete operation does not stop a server that is
currently running.
The following example removes the video_clip server’s configuration information from
the configuration database on host silver:
dcecp> server delete /.:/hosts/silver/config/srvrconf/video_clip
10.1.5 Starting and Stopping Servers
Once a server has been appropriately configured, you can use a server start or server
stop operation to start or stop the server remotely. For example, the following server
start operation starts the explicit server video_clip on host silver in the local cell:
dcecp> server start /.:/hosts/silver/config/srvrconf/video_clip
The next example stops the explicit server video_clip on the local host silver in the local
cell:
dcecp> server stop video_clip
