OSF DCE Administration Guide—Core Components
15.2 Using the CDS Control Program
At the current time, you must use cdscp, rather than dcecp, for certain CDS maintenance
tasks. For example, only cdscp allows you to stop a CDS clerk (disable clerk)orto
reconstruct a directory’s replica set by changing the version number (set directory to
new epoch).
In addition to describing the cdscp commands that dcecp does not currently implement,
this section provides basic instructions for using cdscp.
15.2.1 Starting and Exiting
To start cdscp, enter the following command:
$ cdscp
To exit from cdscp, enter the following command:
cdscp> quit
To read a file of the cdscp commands while inside the control program, enter the
following command:
cdscp> do filename
15.2.2 DCSControl Program Commands
Table 15-2 lists the cdscp commands that you use to manage CDS clerks, servers,
directory replicas, and cells.
