A.2 Implementation Details
Specify the information necessary to uniquely identify the implementation and the
systems in which it may reside. This may include details of:
1. Supplier, implementation name, operating system, suitable hardware
2. System supplier and/or client of the test laboratory that is to test the implementation
3. Information on whom to contact if there are queries concerning the content of this
PICS
4. The relationship between this PICS and the System Conformance Statement for the
system (see note 1)
Symbol Meaning
I Level of implementation of each feature in the role of initiator. Where this column is
preprinted with dashes, representing a non-applicable entry, no entry shall be inserted in
the “I” column.
R Level of implementation of each feature in the role of responder. Where this column is
preprinted with dashes, representing a non-applicable entry, no entry shall be inserted in
the “R” column.
D Defined in ISO 8571. This column indicates the level of support required for
conformance to ISO 8571.
full Full implementation of a feature by the initiator or responder.
partial Partial implementation of a feature by the initiator or responder.
c Support for this protocol data unit is conditional upon the implementation of particular
functional units. If the relevant functional unit is implemented, the support level for the
PDU is mandatory.
m Mandatory support is required for this protocol data unit or for this parameter.
o Optional support is permitted. Although, if implemented, it must conform to the
specifications and restrictions contained in ISO 8571. These restrictions may affect the
optionality of other parameters.

f Full support of the attribute is required, as defined in ISO 8571-2.
p Partial support of the attribute is permitted, as defined in ISO 8571-2.
