Tandem Implementation Notes.
1. OSI/MHS does not provide any kind of user agents. Therefore, in this PICS, “support” is
meant to indicate that Tandem OSI/MHS supports the syntax of these fields and makes
them available to its users; no semantics of these fields is supported.
2. An MS is qualified as an IPMS when it complies with Section 19 of the X.420 standards.
For example, it should support all mandatory MS attributes described in Table C-1/X.420,
Summary of MS Attributes, under the “L” column on page 589 of the standards.
Tandem OSI/MHS MS is not an IPMS MS because it does not fully comply with Section 19,
page 582, of the X.420 standards. Although Tandem OSI/MHS satisfies the condition
described above, the MS does not automatically submit an NRN if one is requested (see
Section 19.3 of the X.420 standards).
