A.6.6.4.2 ORNames
ORNames consist of a mandatory address part and an optional directory-name part. The
address part is a COMPONENT OF ORAddress. X.402 section 18.5 distinguishes five
different types of ORAddresses. These types are presented in the following table.
This clause deals with remote MTS-user ORNames only. The register operation may
enable the MTS-user to change its local ORName. An MD is not required to provide
MTS-users with the ability to change their ORNames. If it does so, the MD may restrict
that ability. It may prohibit certain MTS-users from changing their ORNames, or it may
restrict the scope of the change to a locally defined subset of the components of their
