Manuals for OSI/TS (Tandem OSI/Transport
Services)
Tandem OSI/TS provides OSI Transport Layer services to OSI/AS applications or to
user applications needing direct access to OSI transport services. It implements the
connectionless network layer protocol (CLNP) for use over local area networks or
(optionally) X.25 public data networks. It provides a uniform interface to applications
in WAN and LAN environments, using network and data-link services provided by
X25AM or TLAM.
There are four manuals in the OSI/TS manual set, as follows:
•
Tandem OSI/TS Manual. This manual describes how to write Transport Layer
applications that use the Tandem OSI/TS software to communicate with remote
transport users across an OSI network. It also describes how to install and configure
the Tandem OSI/TS subsystem and how to diagnose configuration and performance
problems.
•
Tandem OSI/AS and OSI/TS Supplement (Includes RFC-1006 Support). This
manual describes RFC-1006 support and other general changes to the Tandem
OSI/AS and OSI/TS manuals.
•
SCF Reference Manual for Tandem OSI/TS. This manual describes the SCF
commands and attributes used to configure, control, modify, and inquire about the
OSI/TS subsystem. It contains descriptions of SCF attributes and screen displays
and descriptions of OSI/TS-specific PTrace commands and screen displays.
•
Operator Messages Manual describes system messages and provides an explanation
of the cause, a discussion of the effect on the system, and suggestions for corrective
action.
•
Tandem OSI/TS Management Programming Manual. This manual describes the
DSM programmatic interfaces (SPI-format commands, responses, and event
messages) provided by OSI/TS for the management application programs that run
on a Tandem host and manage the OSI/TS subsystem. It includes a list and
description of command, response, and EMS tokens.

each manual.
