The MA_DATA.indication is given to the LLC sub-layer upon the receipt of a frame that

is validly formed, received without error, and received with a destination address

matching the local MAC entity (see § 2.3.2.2).

D.1.5.2 Preamble Field

There shall be seven octets of preamble, with each octet containing the bit pattern

10101010 (see § 3.2.1).

There shall be one octet of Start Frame Delimiter, with the bit pattern 10101011

(see § 3.2.2).
