Internet Layer

Architectures

This section provides a brief summary of the OSI and Internet Layer architectures and

describes how the OSI upper layers connect to the TCP/IP lower layers.

Figure 1-3 shows each of the seven layers of the International Organization for

Standardization (ISO) Reference Model with the comparable layer of the Internet

Reference Model beside it. The Internet Reference Model has five layers.
