Configuring Connections
Which servers and profiles you include in any ENTRY object depends on your
configuration needs. For example, if you only need to configure one Layer 5 server and
one Layer 5 profile for a particular TSEL, the information should be specified in the
TSEL ENTRY object. If you want to configure multiple Layer 5 servers or profiles for
the same TSEL, each server and profile combination should be specified in a separate
APPL ENTRY object; the TSEL ENTRY object would specify only the TSEL name.
Table 4-2
also allows for other possible combinations of profile and server
configurations. For example, you can specify Layer 4 profiles in an NSAP ENTRY, a
TSEL ENTRY, or an APPL ENTRY. If every connection using a particular NSAP uses
the same server and profile, then specify the Layer 4 server and profile in the NSAP
ENTRY object. If every connection using a particular NSAP uses the same server but
may use multiple profiles, then specify the Layer 4 server in the NSAP ENTRY and
specify the L4PROFILE in either the TSEL ENTRY or the APPL ENTRY, depending on
your configuration needs.
Regardless of where you choose to specify servers and profiles, you must have the
following ENTRY objects configured:
SNPA ENTRY object for each local SNPA address
SNPA ENTRY object for remote address is not required)
NSAP ENTRY object for each local NSAP address
NSAP ENTRY object for each remote NSAP address
TSEL ENTRY object for each local TSEL address
TSEL ENTRY object for each remote TSEL address
In addition, if your application uses APPL ENTRY objects, you also need to configure
the following ENTRY objects:
An APPL ENTRY object for each local application name (in other words, for each
local OSI service address that your application uses to identify itself)
An APPL ENTRY object for each remote application name (in other words, for each
remote OSI service address to be contacted by your application)
