Servers and Profiles in APPL ENTRY Objects
Other connection options that can be configured at this time are loopback and static
subdevices. These configuration strategies and options are discussed below, followed by
detailed descriptions of how to configure the OSI addresses, PROCESS objects, and
PROFILE objects.
Servers and Profiles in APPL ENTRY Objects
One common method of configuring an OSI/AS subsystem is to put all the server-profile
information in the APPL ENTRY objects.
If you wish to configure multiple servers and profiles and you want to include all the
server-profile information in APPL ENTRY objects, you must configure one local and
one remote APPL ENTRY object for each server-profile combination. Configure the
ENTRY objects as shown in Table 4-3
.
An example of this method is shown in Appendix A, Examples of Configuration
Command Files, at the end of Example 1.

Other connection attributes
1. For environments that don’t use TSELs, specify a null TSEL ENTRY name.
2. This APPL ENTRY attribute is optional. Include it only if your application requires it.
3. For any given pair of local and remote APPL ENTRY objects, you may need to specify only the local or the
remote profile for each layer, since only one is selected by the OSI manager process to use for a connection (see
selection hierarchy of object attributes in Section 2, Management Environment
). For example, if your local
address connects with only one remote address, you need specify only a remote profile. If your local address
connects with many remote addresses, then you may want to specify both a local and a remote profile since
each may be used in different circumstances.
