OSI/AS and OSI/TS Supported Standards
The OSI/AS subsystem and the OSI/TS subsystem together provide core services that
support the seven-layer OSI Reference Model. Configuration and control of the lower
layers is covered in the manuals for the OSI/TS, X25AM, TCP/IP, and (for D-series
releases) TLAM or (for G06 and later releases) PAM subsystems.
This manual and the other Compaq OSI manuals are written for those familiar with the
OSI standards to which the Compaq OSI software conforms. These standards include
the following:

OSI/AS Manual Set
The following list describes the contents of the OSI/AS manual set:
This manual describes how to install, configure, and manage Compaq OSI/AS. This
manual also includes information on monitoring and adjusting OSI/AS to optimize
performance along with information on diagnosing and fixing problems.
The OSI/AS SCF Reference Manual describes the Subsystem Control Facility (SCF)
commands that are used to configure and control the OSI/AS subsystem. This
manual also describes the SCF commands used to display OSI/AS configuration and
status information and the OSI/AS subsystem-specific PTrace commands used to
format and display trace records.
The OSI/AS and OSI/TS Supplement (Includes RFC-1006 Support) supplements the
C30.08/D10 editions of the seven-manual set for OSI/AS and OSI/TS. It describes
RFC-1006 support and other general changes to the manuals.
The OSI/AS Management Programming Manual describes the Distributed Systems
Management (DSM) programmatic interfaces (SPI-format commands, responses,
and event messages) to the Compaq OSI/AS subsystem. It is intended for
programmers writing management applications that communicate with OSI/AS.
Appendix A, Examples of Configuration
Command Files

wide area network (WAN) and over a local
area network (LAN).
Appendix B, Examples of EMS Filters This appendix contains example Event
Management Service (EMS) filters and an
