•
The OSI/AS Programming Manual shows programmers how to use the OSI Session
Layer, Presentation Layer, and ACSE procedural interface provided by the Compaq
OSI/AS subsystem. This interface allows applications to communicate in the OSI
environment.
•
The Operator Messages Manual describes system messages and provides an
explanation of the cause, a discussion of the effect on the system, and suggestions
for corrective action. Refer to this manual for descriptions of the operator messages
generated by Compaq OSI/AS.
Related Manuals
The following manuals contain helpful information on OSI/AS and related products.
These manuals provide information on underlying OSI subsystems:
•
The OSI/TS Configuration and Management Manual is intended for programmers,
system managers, and system operators. It describes how to write Transport Layer
applications that use the Compaq OSI/Transport Services (OSI/TS) software to
communicate with remote transport users across an OSI network. It also describes
how to configure the Compaq OSI/TS subsystem and how to diagnose configuration
and performance problems.
•
The OSI/TS SCF Reference Manual describes the SCF commands that are specific to
the Compaq OSI/TS data communications subsystem. These commands are used to
configure and control the OSI/TS subsystem. This manual also describes the SCF
commands used to display OSI/TS configuration and status information and the
OSI/TS subsystem-specific PTrace commands used to format and display trace
records.
•
The TLAM Configuration and Management Manual tells system and network
managers how to install and manage local area networks (LANs) that are connected
to Compaq NonStop systems by way of the Multilan and Tandem LAN Access
Method (TLAM) software. This manual is necessary only if you use LAN-based
communications. TLAM supports D4x-series releases.
•
The PAM Configuration and Management Manual describes the Port Access
Method (PAM) subsystem, which allows applications running on Himalaya S-series
servers access to Ethernet and token-ring networks. It also describes the Subsystem
Control Facility (SCF) commands used to configure, control, and inquire about the
PAM subsystem. This manual is written for system managers, operators, and others
who configure and manage network subsystems on Himalaya S-series servers. PAM
supports G-series releases.
•
The TCP/IP Configuration and Management Manual describes how to set up and
manage the Compaq NonStop TCP/IP subsystem on a Himalaya S-series server.
This manual is written for system managers, operators, and others who configure
and manage Compaq NonStop TCP/IP.
•
The System Generation Manual for X25AM describes system generation for the
X25AM subsystem. This manual is necessary only if you use X.25-based
communications. The OSI/AS, OSI/TS, TLAM (or PAM), and TCP/IP subsystems
do not require the system-generation utility.
