PTrace and Trace Analysis
The following command displays the configuration of an X25AM subdevice as it is
added dynamically by the TSP process:
INFO SU $X251.#TSP10001, DETAIL
The screen returned displays X.25-related information taken from either the Layer 3
SERVICE object or the Layer 3 PROFILE object. Some common causes of problems
can be easily examined on this screen. In particular, you should look at the following
items:
•
X25DESTADDR attribute. This attribute contains the address of the X.25 remote
address (including the desired port number appended at the end).
•
X25PORT attribute.
•
X25REVERSECHG attribute. This attribute specifies whether calls that request
reverse charges are accepted.
PTrace and Trace Analysis
You can use the SELECT L4 mask to read the file-system calls (in this case, the LCBs)
to X25AM. The following example shows a trace of a CONTROL request to subdevice
number 1 (SDN #001). This is an X25AM subdevice that TSP has opened. The type of
CONTROL request is in P4 (in the range P1-6, the fourth word): Control 11 (%000013):
When troubleshooting an OSI/AS subsystem using X25AM, you seldom need to look at
more than the SELECT L3 mask. This mask causes all the packets to be displayed,
along with most of the attributes related to the connection. The following example
shows a trace of a call request packet to subdevice number 0 (SDN #000):
To further analyze L3 packets, you can use the following commands:
FILTER CALL
FILTER CLEAR
These commands display all the call and clear packets sent and received.
The following command limits the display to a specific subdevice:
FILTER SDN name
