Managing TSP Processes
Managing TSP Processes
The TSP processes available to your OSI/AS subsystem, via the OSI/TS subsystem,
provide Transport Layer services, including the OSI IP and the ES-IS routing exchange
protocol for LANs and SNDCF for X.25 WANs. The TSP processes available to your
OSI/AS subsystem, via the OSI/TS subsystem, provide Transport Layer services,
including the OSI IP and the ES-IS routing exchange protocol for LANs, SNDCF for
X.25 WANs, and RFC-1006 standard for TCP/IP. These processes constitute the OSI/TS
subsystem, a Compaq product that, like the NSP processes, can be controlled separately
from the OSI/AS subsystem through its own configuration and management interface.
This manual describes the configuration and management of TSP processes only in
relation to the OSI manager and TAPS processes. The OSI/TS SCF Reference Manual
describes the SCF commands and objects for controlling Compaq OSI/TS independently
of OSI/AS.
Managing TAPS Processes
The TAPS processes in your OSI/AS subsystem provide Session Layer, Presentation
Layer, and ACSE services. These processes constitute the OSI/AS subsystem, which is
controlled through the OSI manager process and its own configuration and management
interface. This manual describes the configuration and management of TAPS processes.
Sensitive Commands
Sensitive commands are those that can change the state or configuration of objects, start
or stop tracing, or change the values of statistics counters. Sensitive commands can be
issued only by a restricted set of NonStop Kernel users, such as the owner of a
subsystem process. The sensitive SCF commands for the OSI/AS subsystem are as
follows:
ABORT Stops operation of an object abruptly.
ACTIVATE Starts operation of an object after it has been suspended.
ADD Defines an object to the subsystem.
ALLOWOPENS Enables the creation of links (access to objects) after link creation
has been disabled using the STOPOPENS command.
ALTER Alters values of an object’s attributes.
DELETE Removes an object from the subsystem.
START Starts the operation of an object.
STATS With the RESET option, displays the accumulated statistics for
an object and then resets all counters. (The STATS command is a
sensitive command only if the RESET option is specified.)
STOP Stops the operation of an object in an orderly manner.
