Nonsensitive Commands
Nonsensitive Commands
Nonsensitive commands do not change the state or configuration of objects; they are
primarily informational commands. They can be issued by any user or program
allowed to access the subsystem—that is, commands on which the subsystem
imposes no further security restrictions. The nonsensitive SCF commands for
the OSI/AS subsystem are as follows:
Objects
OSI/AS subsystem objects are defined in relation to the SCF command interface.
Subsystem objects are the items that you control by issuing SCF commands. They are
the things that you add, alter, delete, start, stop, and so on.
In addition to controlling OSI/AS subsystem objects, you can obtain information on
them. SCF commands like CHECK, INFO, STATS, STATUS, and TRACE allow you to
gather information that you can use to analyze the configuration and performance of an
OSI/AS subsystem.
STOPOPENS Disables the creation of links (access to objects) by preventing a
process or subdevice from being opened by an application
request.
SUSPEND Changes the state of a started process to the suspended state. The
process continues to run.
TRACE Generates trace records for a process.
CHECK Displays the attribute values that will be used for a connection, or
displays information on subdevices associated with a particular
connection.
INFO Displays an object's current attribute values.
LISTOPENS Identifies the processes that have opens against the given process
or subdevice.
NAMES Displays the names of objects.
STATS Displays the accumulated statistics for an object.
STATUS Displays the status of an object.
VERSION Displays the version identifier of a subsystem’s programmatic
interface.
