Types of SERVICE Objects
Types of SERVICE Objects
SERVICE objects define protocol attributes within the Network Layer through the
Application Layer. Table 2-6 shows how you identify in SCF commands the SERVICE
object for each service layer.
Names for SERVICE Objects
SERVICE objects have fixed names within your subsystem. A SERVICE object name
consists of two parts:
•
The name of the manager process that controls the subsystem or the TAPS process
•
The service-layer identifier
SERVICE object names have the following syntax:
These examples illustrate SERVICE object names for each type of SERVICE object:
$OSIM.#L3$TAPS.#L5
$OSIM.#L4$TAPS.#L6
$OSIM.#L5$TAPS.#ACSE
$OSIM.#L6
$OSIM.#ACSE
Default Values Set by OSI Manager Process
SERVICE object attributes for which you do not assign values are assigned default
values by the OSI manager process, as shown in Table 2-7
, Table 2-8 on page 2-28,
Table 2-9 on page 2-29, Table 2-10 on page 2-30, and Table 2-11 on page 2-30.
The SERVICE object attributes that have an OSIMGR default are shown in Table 2-4
on page 2-23
