OSI/AS Management Programming Manual

Guardian 90 Definitions
Common Definitions
4–16 056785 Tandem Computers Incorporated
Descriptions of the EMS standard definitions as they apply to all subsystems are given
in the Event Management Service (EMS) Manual. The information in that manual
suffices to describe the use of some of the definitions listed in Tables 4-11 and 4-12; for
others, additional subsystem-specific considerations apply. OSI/AS subsystem-
specific considerations for EMS definitions are given in the following paragraphs.
ZEMS-TKN-CONSOLE-PRINT
indicates whether the EMS compatibility distributor will route the event message
to the designated operator console (and, in compatible mode, to the OPRLOG and
any $AOPR process). Its possible values are:
ZSPI-VAL-TRUE
The compatibility distributor will distribute the message.
ZSPI-VAL-FALSE
The compatibility distributor will not distribute the message.
ZEMS-TKN-EMPHASIS
has the value ZSPI-VAL-FALSE if the event is not critical or ZSPI-VAL-TRUE if it
is.
ZEMS-TKN-EVENTNUMBER
has one of the values listed in Table 6-1 of this manual.
ZEMS-TKN-SUBJECT-MARK
immediately precedes the subject token, which will be one of the following:
ZCOM-TKN-SUBJ-PROC
ZCOM-TKN-SUBJ-SERV
ZCOM-TKN-SUBJ-SU
Additional information specific to particular event messages is provided in the
individual event-message descriptions in Section 6.
Guardian 90
Definitions
Definitions whose names begin with ZGRD are Guardian 90 definitions. They are
provided in the ZSPIDEF.ZGRDDDL file and in the corresponding files for other
languages. Tables 4-13 and 4-14 list the Guardian 90 definitions that are used in event
messages and error lists defined by the OSI/AS subsystem.
