G-Series and D-Series Compatibility
However, it is recommended that these SERVICE objects be altered only through the
OSI manager process. To issue commands directly to TSP processes, see the OSI/TS
SCF Reference Manual.
The LINE object is not supported by the OSI/AS subsystem. However, you can direct
commands to LINE objects in the X25AM and TLAM subsystems in D-series releases
(or PAM subsystem in G06 and later releases) that are in use by the OSI/AS subsystem.
X25AM commands for LINE objects are described in the SCF Reference Manual for
X25AM. TLAM commands for LINE objects are described in the SCF Reference
Manual for Multilan/TLAM. PAM commands for LINE objects are described in the PAM
Configuration and Management Manual.
G-Series and D-Series Compatibility
The network service providers (NSPs) for OSI/TS are X25AM, TCP/IP, or TLAM (with
D-series releases) , or PAM (with G06 or above releases). An application running over
OSI/TS can use any of these NSPs.
Some Expand networks may include both D-series and G-series systems. It is possible
that the application, OSI/AS, OSI/TS, and X25AM, TCP/IP, or TLAM or PAM are
running on different nodes.
Figure 1-2
shows OSI/AS running on a G-series system communicating with OSI/TS
running on a D-series system through Expand lines. The NSP on D-series can be
X25AM, TCP/IP, or TLAM or PAM.
