L5 USER—L5 First Request

shows the parameters associated with an APS procedure call. See the OSI/AS
Programming Manual for parameter descriptions.
L5 USER—L5 First Request
This trace record is generated immediately after the first of a series of data requests
(Request Code -00003) or typed data requests (Request Code -00005) is
received from either APS or L6. A series of such records consists of:
L5 First Request
L5 Multi Mid Request (zero or many)
L5 Multi Last Request or L6 Multi Abort Request
No other L5 Requests can be handled until the series is complete or aborted.
The example shows concatenated tokens which would not be present with a typed data
request. It also shows a single user data element.
The service user will ensure that the request contains a whole number of user data
elements. If the service user is L6, the data elements will have been through the BER
encoder. If the service user is APS, the element structure may have been segmented to fit
into the internal buffer. Thus, it may be difficult to reconcile the data element structure
and the contents of the data elements with those submitted by the user.
