TRACE PROCESS Considerations
TRACE PROCESS Considerations
To start a new trace, issue a TRACE command that includes the TO filename
option. When you specify TO filename, a new trace is initiated unless the file
name is invalid, the file cannot be opened, or tracing is already active for the
specified process. A process can have only one trace active at a time.
To modify the COUNT, RECSIZE, and/or SELECT options for a trace already in
progress, issue a TRACE command that does not include TO filename,
specifying new values for the options you want to change. To change any options
other than COUNT, RECSIZE, or SELECT, you must stop the trace and start a new
trace.
To stop a trace that is currently in progress, issue a TRACE command that includes
only the STOP option.
