PROFILE

PROFILE specifies the name of a VFS profile associated with an FTAM responder

process or an alternate event collector (FTC) profile.

PSEL

PSEL defines the presentation selector for an FTAM initiator process or VFS profile.

The PSEL is a binary-encoded string. It is entered as a string of an even number of

hexadecimal characters—maximum length of 32 hexadecimal characters. Presentation

selector values are locally administered.

If you alter PSEL, SSEL, TSEL, and/or NSAP, the combination of resulting address

components must match an OSI address already defined in the OSI manager MIB.

Whenever an application requests an FTAM association without specifying an OSI

address or common name, the OSI manager uses this OSI address as the initiator

address. Whenever a responder process creates a subdevice, it uses this OSI address. For

details on how to add an address to the OSI manager MIB or to view addresses already

defined, see the OSI/AS Configuration and Management Manual.

Note that SCF does not check for the existence of a matching address in the OSI

manager MIB; such an error is not detected until run time, when the associated

responder process is started. For more information on OSI addresses and how they are
