Trace Record Types
For the typical user wishing to use PTrace to help solve interoperability or application
program faults, the most useful trace records are the PROV and ASN1 type records
generated by initiators and responders. They provide displays of the data being
exchanged between the local and remote systems. The ASN1 records provide only
information relating to the protocol data units (PDUs) defined in ISO 8571-4. The
PROV records provide information on all the data that is sent, including provider PDU
records that contain file data.
