Object States for the PROCESS Object
Table 2-3 lists the commands that produce changes in the APLMGR and FTAM process
states and describes the effects of these commands on the capabilities of the processes.
Any requests pending are canceled when one of these commands is issued.
Table 2-3. Process-State-Transition Commands
Command Effect on Process States
ABORT PROCESS Abruptly terminates all pending requests for subdevices
associated with the process, deletes all associated subdevices,
and stops the process.
ACTIVATE PROCESS Changes the state of an APLMGR, an initiator, or a responder
process from SUSPENDED to STARTED.
START PROCESS Starts the operation of an APLMGR, an initiator, or a responder
process.
STOP PROCESS Terminates the operation of an APLMGR, an initiator, or a
responder process, shutting down the process in an orderly
fashion.
SUSPEND PROCESS Prevents an APLMGR, an initiator, or a responder process from
processing any information other than Distributed Systems
Management (DSM) requests.
