Installing the Basic Components
Using an Old MIB
For existing FTAM installations for which you want to use an existing APLMGR MIB,
you must first back up the MIB and then restore it.
Creating and Starting the APLMGR Process
After you have created the MIB file, the next step is to create and start the APLMGR
process. The owner of the APLMGR process and users with a super group ID can
execute sensitive commands for the APLMGR process. Use the following procedure for
installation:
1. Create the APLMGR process by issuing an implicit RUN command from the TACL
command interpreter using the object file named APLMGR.
For the Example FTAM Configuration
on page 3-38, the command appears as
follows:
APLMGR /NAME $AMGR, NOWAIT, PRI 145, CPU 1/2
For detailed information on using the TACL RUN command, see the TACL
Reference Manual.
The following SUBSYS object attributes not set in the RUN command default to the
following values:
Caution. Do not use the MAKDB file—it does not retain the contents of an existing MIB.
