Configuring FTAM Application Entities
Configuring FTAM Application Entities
The OSI/AS Configuration and Management Manual provides an illustration showing
step-by-step configuration of an application entity. Figure 3-8 on page 3-60 and
Figure 3-9
on page 3-64 show how such an application entity could be configured for an
FTAM initiator and for an FTAM responder, following the example configuration
discussed in this section and in Appendix A, Example FTAM Configuration Command
Files. The diagrams give the SCF commands for entering the necessary information into
the APLMGR MIB and the OSI manager MIB. Dark arrows on the diagrams show how
the object configurations interrelate, as described in the text.
The figures show the commands required to configure an FTAM initiator and responder
in the APLMGR MIB, and the commands required to configure all local addresses and
the associated processes and profiles in the OSI manager MIB. However, note that
Figure 3-8
on page 3-60 does not show the configuration in the OSI manager MIB of a
common name and address for the remote responder, which are required if your Tandem
FTAM application uses remote common names. For the complete example SCF
command file, including commands to configure the address and common name of the
remote responder, see Appendix A, Example FTAM Configuration Command Files.
Initiator Application Entity
Figure 3-8 on page 3-60 shows the configuration of the first initiator, $FTI1, in the
example in Appendix A, Example FTAM Configuration Command Files.
