Displaying Profile Configurations
Displaying Profile Configurations
Tandem FTAM supports two types of profiles: a virtual filestore (VFS) profile that can
later be associated with one or more responder processes, and an alternate collector
(FTC) profile that defines an alternate collector for event messages.
VFS Profiles
To check the configuration of a VFS profile, use the SCF INFO PROFILE command.
The following example (applied to Example FTAM Configuration
on page 3-38)
displays the configuration of the profile named VFS1:
INFO PROFILE $AMGR.#VFS.VFS1
This command returns the following display for the profile in the sample configuration:
Note that because this profile was added with a common name instead of an OSI
address, values for the common name are shown, not the address components. If you
configure a profile with an OSI address, these address components will appear in the
INFO PROFILE display. The remaining field in the display is the user ID and password
that the responder uses if the remote user does not supply them. For security reasons, the
password is always displayed as ########. For more information on this field, see the
discussion of the DEFUSER attribute in Logon Access
on page 3-19.
You can use the INFO PROFILE command to obtain information when you have the
following concerns:
You want to verify configuration values of a profile in your installation.
You need to check the user ID value assigned in the DEFUSER attribute. (The
password cannot be verified interactively.)
Because viewing the INFO displays for the SUBSYS, PROCESS, and PROFILE objects
is a routine management task, you should be familiar with all fields in all displays. Each
displays the current values for object attributes that you can change to reconfigure your
system. Using Tandem FTAM Configuration Attributes
on page 3-27 discusses these
attributes further.
FTC Profile
To check the configuration of an FTC profile, use the SCF INFO PROFILE command.
