The PAM Configuration and Management Manual describes the Port Access
Method (PAM) subsystem, which allows applications running on Himalaya S-series
servers access to Ethernet and token-ring networks. This manual is written for
system managers, operators, and others who configure and manage network
subsystems on Himalaya S-series servers. PAM supports G-series releases.
The TCP/IP Configuration and Management Manual describes how to set up and
manage the Tandem NonStop TCP/IP subsystem on a Himalaya S-series server. This
manual is written for system managers, operators, and others who configure and
manage Tandem NonStop TCP/IP.
The System Generation Manual for X25AM describes system generation for the
X25AM subsystem. This manual is necessary only if you use X.25-based
communications. The TLAM, PAM, TCP/IP, OSI/TS, OSI/AS, OSI/APLMGR, and
OSI/FTAM subsystems do not require the system-generation utility.
The following manuals contain background information on the Tandem environment:
Introduction to Networking and Data Communications for Himalaya S-Series
Servers provides an overview of Tandem networking and data communications
products for G-series systems.
Introduction to Distributed Systems Management (DSM) introduces the products and
components collectively known as Distributed Systems Management. The manual
also discusses subsystem enhancements to support DSM.
Subsystem Control Facility (SCF) Reference Manual (for D-series releases) and SCF
Reference Manual for G-Series Releases describe the operation of SCF and tell
system and network managers how to use SCF to configure, control, and inquire
about supported data communications subsystems.
Introduction to Tandem X.25 Capabilities describes the use of wide area networks
(WANs) on X.25 packet-switched networks connected to Tandem NonStop systems
by way of the X.25 Access Method (X25AM) product, including the basic
installation and management process for X25AM. This manual is necessary only if
you use X.25-based communications.
The following manuals contain information on event and problem management:
The PTrace Reference Manual tells system and network managers how to display
trace files created by the SCF TRACE command. It provides information that
applies to all subsystems; information specific to Tandem FTAM is provided in the
OSI/FTAM and OSI/APLMGR SCF Reference Manual.
The EMS Manual tells system and network managers how to write event-message
filters to select messages of particular interest and distribute them to various
destinations.
The ViewPoint Manual describes a multifunction operations console application that
allows the management of a network of systems. The manual describes how to
install, configure, and start ViewPoint for custom applications.
