Command File to Configure Tandem FTAM Addresses in OSI/AS
The SCF command file EXOSIUP creates and starts the OSI manager process, defines
profile and entry information, configures and starts all underlying layer processes, and
defines the Tandem FTAM common names and OSI addresses.
This command file is written under the assumption that you are communicating over an
X.25 network without the use of the subnetwork dependent convergence function
(SNDCF). To tailor this configuration to other OSI environments, such as LANs and
loopback configurations, see the examples in the OSI/AS Configuration and
Management Manual.
You may need to set the correct X.25 source address for your installation. In addition,
for many remote implementations, you must also set the OSI parameter for X.25 call
user data packets using the PARAM TSP^PROTO^ID ON command. You may first need
to abort the X.25 line, delete any subdevices associated with that line, and alter the X.25
source address to the correct X.25 source address for your installation, then start the line
before running this command file. You must be authorized to issue sensitive commands
to perform these tasks. For more information on setting or altering the X.25 source
address, see the SCF Reference Manual for X25AM.
You may also need to purge the data in the APLMGR MIB and the OSI manager MIB
files. You can use the TACL command file examples EXCLOMIB and EXCLRMIB,
discussed earlier in this section, to do this.
Note the use of the SCF DELAY command immediately after the START PROCESS
command that starts the OSI manager process. This five-second delay allows the OSI
manager to complete subsystem startup before it is called upon to add profiles, entries,
and processes to its MIB. For further discussion of the use of the DELAY command, see
Creating a New Configuration Command File
on page 4-2.
