Collecting Diagnostic Information
Collecting Diagnostic Information
If you have attempted the troubleshooting procedures outlined in Section 6, FTAM
Troubleshooting, and a problem persists, you need to collect diagnostic information to
provide to a support representative. Command File for Resetting Statistics Counters
on
this page and Command File for Obtaining Diagnostic Information on page A-19 show
command files that you can use to perform the tasks necessary to collect this
information for the sample configuration.
Command File for Resetting Statistics Counters
The first step in collecting diagnostic information is to reset the statistics counters for all
configured objects. The following SCF command file resets all the APLMGR, FTAM,
and underlying OSI layer subsystem statistics counters for the sample configuration
described in this appendix. You should set up a similar SCF command file for your
configuration and then use the SCF OBEY command to invoke the file. You must have
super ID access to use this SCF command file.
The source code for this command file is provided with the FTAM subsystem in the file
named EXTBL1 and is installed as described in Appendix C, FTAM Software Files
.
If your configuration uses a LAN instead of or in addition to X.25, see the OSI/AS
Configuration and Management Manual for an example that includes resetting statistics
for the TLAM and PAM subsystems. If your configuration uses TCP/IP, see the Tandem
OSI/AS and OSI/TS Supplement (Includes RFC-1006 Support).
Note. These commands are not generic. To use them, you must change the names to reflect
your configuration.
