Figure 1-4 shows how the Tandem FTAM architecture fits into the various layers of the
OSI Reference Model for both LANs and WANs. OSI/AS, OSI/TS, TLAM, X25AM,
PAM, and TCP/IP are represented by their respective TAPS, TSP, and NSP processes.
The figure also shows the hardware used to implement lower-layer communications
through TLAM, PAM, or X25AM, as defined under Hardware Requirements
on
page 1-13.
