Setting Procedure Parameters
The default functional units are consistent with the default service class. If you
propose the file-access service class, you must specify func-units and specify a
value of TRUE for the file-access functional unit; if you do not, the NonStop initiator
rejects the request.
7. The attrib-groups (ZFTM-DDL-ATTR-GROUPS) parameter specifies the set of
optional file attribute groups available to the association. If you do not supply this
parameter, the initiator requests only the kernel attribute group. For a description of
attributes and attribute groups, refer to Section 2, ISO FTAM Concepts.
8. The contents-type-list (ZFTM-DDL-CNTNTS-LIST) parameter is a proposed
list of document types for the association. This parameter carries a proposed list of
document type names. If you do not supply contents-type-list, the default
document types requested will be FTAM-1, FTAM-2, FTAM-3, and NBS-9.
9. The initiator-id (ZAPS-DDL-CHAR32) parameter identifies the calling user. If
you do not supply this parameter, no initiator identity will be sent to the responder.
If the remote responder requires an initiator ID and you don’t supply it, an error
occurs. To find out the expected form of this parameter for its implementation, see
the manuals for your FTAM responder.
10. The account (ZAPS-DDL-CHAR32) parameter identifies the account to which the
FTM_INITIALIZE_REQ_ call should bill the charges incurred during the FTAM
regime. If you do not supply this parameter, the initiator does not supply an
account name to the remote responder.
11. The filestore-password (ZAPS-DDL-CHAR32) parameter conveys a
password that the responder uses to authenticate the initiator-id. If you do
not supply this parameter, no password will be supplied to the remote responder. If
the remote responder requires a file storage password and you don’t supply it, an
error occurs.
Use the service-class, func-units, attrib-groups, and contents-type-
list parameters when negotiating the service class, functional units, attribute groups,
and document types for a particular association. When you negotiate services, you
send parameter values from the initiator to the remote responder, and the responder
returns what it can support. The responder can return an equal or lesser, but never
greater, value for what it can support. For a description of the valid service classes,
functional units, attribute groups, and document types that can be requested, refer to
Section 2, ISO FTAM Concepts.
